Dan McEssy M.A., M.S.

I was lucky to discover my passion for personal development early in life. I was an average Midwesterner who threw himself into his life passion academically and professionally and have been privileged to work alongside some of the finest professional athletes, physicians, special forces operatives, and business leaders ever since.

I come from a sports-focus family and was fascinated by the power team culture and coaching have on performance. I was so fascinated that the dissertation for my first masters was entitled “Creating a High Performance Culture - a coaches guide”. I’ve since applied the same concepts to help business leaders maximize the performance of their teams (without the locker room smell!).

Many of my clients were apprehensive of receiving professional coaching before we began. Some believed it would be the same advice their uncle gives them during Thanksgiving dinner while others feared it would be a watered-down therapy session. While I certainly empathize with those concerns, coaching is neither of those experiences. Coaching is a goal-focused process to define and develop the most impactful areas that you can leverage for greater success. I am your professional guide to navigate the uncertainty and hesitation.

…To be frank, none of my clients have time to engage in coaching that doesn’t provide real life value for their investment…

Most Common Coaching Needs

  • Transitioning from an individual contributor to executive leader or shifting into a new domain or industry? You know the transition can be hard. Coaching can help smooth the transition and redefine your approach to work and life.

  • Leadership is a dynamic and evolving skillset that requires a level of self-reflection and humility to grow. We will work to set a strong foundation for your unique leadership style to flourish amid the evolving work landscape - including remote work leadership.

  • Soft skill improvement lead to a hard bottom line impact. An individuals ability to communicate effectively, have executive presence during high-pressure meetings, and tell compelling stories that are tailored to their audiences can make or break a career.

  • Your professional brand tells your story without you saying a word. How others perceive you is your brand, whether it’s aligned to your self-image or not. Be an active cultivator of your brand to maximize its alignment to your career and personal goals.
